What is a Holistic Pet Health Coach?

Certified Holistic Pet Health Coaches are trained professionals who specialize in providing guidance and support to pet owners in achieving optimal health and well-being for their pets using holistic, integrative veterinary approaches. These coaches have an understanding of the various factors that impact pet health, such as nutrition, exercise, emotional health, and environmental factors.

What I can do for your pet with Holistic Pet Health Coaching

  • The goal of a holistic pet health coach is to optimize your pet’s overall quality of life by addressing all aspects of their health with an emphasis on a more natural approach to pet care.

I went through an intensive course with a holistic, integrative veterinarian to become a Certified Holistic Pet Health Coach. This enables me to provide guidance and support to pet owners using holistic approaches in areas such as nutrition, health concerns, emotional health, and environmental factors.

I can work with pet parents on developing food, supplement, natural remedy, and lifestyle plans tailored specifically to their pet to promote vibrant, long-term health. A tailored plan can help prevent or reduce allergies, skin problems, arthritis, kidney disease, GI problems, liver disease, cancer, autoimmune problems, musculoskeletal problems, promote good oral health and more.

I will spend time compiling information and doing research to provide you with education and recommendations specific to your pet’s situation. I have access to the veterinarian I trained under and to the other pet heath coaches. You are not only getting my expertise, as we are a team helping each other as needed so we can help pets live their best life.

I can provide education in many areas of pet care, help you understand test results and illnesses, and educate you on what questions you should ask your vet. What you will learn will empower you to be an advocate for your pet’s health.

I am not a veterinarian, and your veterinarian is an important part of the team. However, there is a shortage of veterinarians, and it is expected to get worse in the coming years.

Vets are very busy and often are not able to spend enough time with pet parents to answer all your questions or provide the education you may seek. A pet health coach can bridge these gaps.

  • If you have a couple of initial questions about how coaching can help you and your pet, you can send them to me through the contact page or we can have a brief phone call first.

Once you contact me and pay for an initial consultation, I will email you a questionnaire to fill out online. After I receive the completed questionnaire, I will contact you to set up the initial consultation. I prefer we do a zoom call but if that does not work for you, we can do a phone call. We will review your answers, and I will probably have additional questions for you. I will provide education and make recommendations based on your pet’s needs. The initial consultation usually lasts about an hour. I will send you an email recap with the important points of our discussion and with the recommendations, so you have it in writing to refer to.

As you work through the plan we put together for your pet, it is usually beneficial to do follow up sessions as needed to make any adjustments, review progress, for further education, and to make additional recommendations, especially if your pet has a chronic condition. Follow up sessions are typically 20-30 minutes.
